As an avid gardener, I really enjoyed "Peony". First, the organization of the book is excellent. Up front, peony plant selection, planting, on-going maintenance and garden design are covered in detail. Next, detailed profiles of 50+ peony hybrids are presented, including beautiful, sharp color photos and plant-specific growth habits. The master hybridizer and gardener experiences of the authors is evident throughout the book.This book has a ton of information but is not a dry, horticultural text book. The writing is succinct and keeps the reader moving, and the garden design ideas and peony photos inspire the reader to find a spot for peonies in his or her garden. I will come back to it year after year for more ideas. If you are going to buy one book on peonies, this is it.
This is by far the best book available on peonies.The pictures are amazing showing the flowers and the whole plant.Waited years for such a book.Thank You.

I wish there were more varieties and more details like “ this variety is tolerant of more shade or heating how one coral variety compares to the others, for example. That said, probably no one could get all the details I would like I to one book.
